Every single point is right on target. DeSantis seems to be completely impervious to name-calling and attacks, and he outmaneuvers the enemy at their own games. In Florida he holds leaders accountable, regardless of party, sex or color. That is true equity. He uses himself to body block the attacks by the Progressives on the Constitutional rights of American citizens. The cherry on top is his actions are forcing wavering republican leaders to grow a backbone.

It should be obvious to anyone looking that DeSantis would be like Trump, but much better. But being President and becoming President are not the same thing, and no matter how good someone might be at being President, if they do not become President, it's all for naught. Now, there's a good argument that DeSantis is also more electable, and I'm all ears on that, but Trump does have a certain charisma and ability to command the spotlight that might be lacking in not only DeSantis, but anyone else in the Republican Party at present.

DeSantis is being funded by the same GOPe that backed Cruz and Jeb! He doesn't have the money to avoid being held hostage by The Club.

Trump was suckered time and again and was an unmitigated disaster. Basically enacted sanctions against his own people during lockdowns, continued funding to tyrannical governors, most deficit spending in history, red flag laws, civil asset forfeiture, executive action of guns(bump stock ban), no wall, warp speed, etc. Deep state knows how to manipulate him, and his base, unfortunately and I believe deep state will use him as a fulcrum to do something awful as foreshadowed by Bidens speech the other night.

With hopes it all evolves in the next year or so. Trump brings a lot of bad baggage that arrives and many have been so brain washed they would never vote for him. His second trip might be refreshing and he might perform better without so many nipping at his heels distracting him. OTOH, DeSantis is a politicians wise to the machinations of government and clearly finds ways to back up his speech with action. But I suspect by 2023 anybody could beat Biden. I think Biden (his handlers, really) is not capable of moderation and common sense.
