Vance Wins--Ohio Votes to Protect Manufacturing
Club For Growth and other globalists humiliated after novice Vance beats opponents with unapologetic support for tariffs
In choosing J.D. Vance as their nominee for senator, Ohio Republicans said loud and clear that they support tariffs and protection from unfair foreign trade practices. They want representatives in Washington who oppose globalism.
On that topic, please check out a sneak preview of the new video I enclose from Sagebrush Rebellion about fixing American trade, especially by not sending our jobs and money to places like China. I call for higher tariffs and cite reliable sources on the topic: George Washington and the economic thinkers who made America great.
America’s trade policy is a disaster. Donald Trump tried hard, put tariffs on China, and discredited the view that trade with Beijing by its rules would make the Chinese Communist Party our friend. He also killed the Trans-Pacific Partnership that would have given Asian countries even more privileged access to the U.S. market despite their cheap labor, weak environmental standards, and other unfair practices.
But Trump didn't fully reverse decades of bad policy.
And that bad policy is exactly what the globalists in the ruling elite want to restore. Not a day goes by without the China-loving Club for Growth, the finance plutocrats, the Romney-Rove glee club at the Wall Street Journal editorial page, the Chamber of Commerce, or other globalists calling for open borders and letting foreigners cheat America on trade. They want to pretend Trump never happened.
Unfortunately for them, last Wednesday, the Commerce Department reported the biggest trade in goods deficit ever in American history. In March, we imported nearly twice what we exported: $297 billion in imported goods versus $169 billion in exports. Think of that: every single month, we now send about $125 billion net out of this country to make other places great again. The huge deficit also led to last Thursday’s news that the economy is now shrinking.
We need to go back to favoring American industry and using stout tariffs to keep China and other unfair and corrupt trade adversaries at bay. That plus renewing Trump-era curbs on government regulation and keeping energy cheap rather than indulging the leftwing religion of climate change alarmism will restore American manufacturing.
Please spare a few minutes to check out the enclosed sneak preview video featuring me, which was produced by Sagebrush Rebellion—a new organization that will support individuals with the resources, ideas, and arguments to save America. Take a look and please share it if you like it.
