Markets Know Trump's Plan is Good
Pinko Pope should stop playing politician and start paying taxes.
Earlier today on Newsmax and N2, I summed up promising developments related to the Iran war. Behind the hysteria from Democrats, the media, and the Pinko Pope, real-world events look fine. Talking points:
IRAN
Last week, the mainstream media and the Democrats were wailing that Trump hadn’t reopened the Strait of Hormuz, or included that objective in his war requirements.
This week, the mainstream media and the Democrats are wailing that Trump is reopening the Strait of Hormuz and including it in his war requirements.
That is the bottom line of Trump’s order to close the Strait and begin the de-mining process. The transit of two U.S. destroyers through the Strait for the first time since the war started indicates that the Navy is confident some channels are free of mines and resilient to Iranian attack.
Oil futures markets reflect this reality even if the deranged and hysterical political class on both sides of the Atlantic does not. Current West Texas Intermediate futures markets show clear backwardation:
May 2026: $104.92
June 2026: $95.93
July 2026: $89.40
The same is true for Dubai benchmark futures, which are more directly influenced by the Strait of Hormuz:
April 2026: $100.75
May 2026: $90.77
June 2026: $87.51
July 2026: $85.34
In other words, people with real money and oil on the line know that the oil will flow and my nearly 7,000-pound, 510-hp living-room-on-wheels will be cruising around this summer, producing harmless carbon that is great for trees.
Politicians lie. Money does not.
In the course of a year, Iran has gone from the strongest regional power in the Middle East to the weakest. Meanwhile, the Great Satan and our allies are looking quite strong.
The inability of Iranian negotiators to reach a reasonable agreement with the United States is a lost opportunity for Iran, not the USA. Iran often breaks agreements and there would be pressure to overlook Iranian violations and not resume military operations.
Absent a deal, allied militaries can strike Iran as necessary. Iran should also expect a toll or embargo on its exports through the Strait. To make up for lost oil on the world market, Trump should drop all sanctions on Russian oil exports and investment in Russia.
Sad Factoid: According to ChatGPT, the Strait of Hormuz is named for the island of Hormuz, which is named for Hormazd, a form of Ahura Mazda, the supreme deity in Zoroastrianism. As with anything but Shia Islam, Zoroastrianism, despite having originated in Iran as one of oldest monotheistic religions that may have influenced Judaism in late antiquity and therefore Christianity and Islam, is severely persecuted by Iran’s clerical regime. There are certainly way more Zoroastrians in Los Angeles than that part of Iran. Should the waterway be renamed the Arabian Strait or the Strait of Trump?
PINKO POPE
The Pinko Pope typifies the growing problem of the religious left. They pervert long-established institutions to advance contemporary leftwing political goals that harm their parishioners.
Helping church members with their lives and questions about how to relate to God and the infinite are less interesting to these politicians than playing to the cheers of an adoring globalist elite and the mainstream media.
On one hand, it is nice that the Pinko Pope has seemingly taken a break from appeasing Chinese communist authorities, which he and the Vatican bureaucracy do really well. They allow China to veto Vatican personnel decisions and ignore imprisoned Jimmy Lai, the world’s most famous Catholic layman and dissident. On the other hand, the Pinko Pope has said Trump has “hands full of blood.” In so doing, he gives a pass to the Islamist terrorists who run Iran and were hoping to dominate or kill millions of Christians and Jews and Muslims when they got a nuclear weapon. Beyond wrong, this is moral degeneracy.
The same goes for the Pinko Pope’s public campaign against the USA for enforcing immigration laws the same way every other country does. How many million Somali and Haitian immigrants is the Vatican prepared to accept or pay for?
The Pinko Pope says his “peace appeals are rooted in the Gospel, not party politics.” LOL—we weren’t baptized yesterday liberal Leo.
If the Pinko Pope wants to see how this all works out, he should take a look at the Episcopal Church. Once a fundamentally important American institution, it is now basically a Real Estate Investment Trust with a choir. Nice buildings, empty pews.
Following this path…
Sermons that matter to people’s lives ==> Sermons about boring annual vacations to Scotland ==> Sermons advocating leftism
…leads to churches emptying or splitting off.
American taxpayers should not be required to subsidize leftwing foreign political interference in U.S. politics. As with any political donations, those made to political churches—those engaged in pressure campaigns related to public policy—should not be tax deductible. Leftwing churches should not be allowed to raise everyone else’s property taxes by getting a pass on these either.
Since the USA does not have ambassadors to foreign political parties, there should be no U.S. ambassador to the Vatican until there is a normal pope.

Since the US Navy has been in the straits since things got tense there, they certainly know and have known about the mines. It's said that the Iranians don't know for sure where the mines are laid but there's a decent chance the Navy has a pretty good idea. Our Navy has been picking off the little boats used for these installations for weeks, to the point where Iran is pretty much out of them. This prior target tracking likely provides a decent database of where the mines are.
More importantly, the Iranian's plan to mine the straits has been well known for weeks. Naval intelligence has to have been kicking around (analyzing at every level - political, economic, other risks) this strategy and considering moves. Flipping the script to effectively deny Iran everything from spare parts to rice seems, on the face of it, to be advantage US. This is something that military campaigns usually have to invest time and resources to achieve and this time our opponent has done it for us. History will almost certainly brand Iran's decision to cut off its own supply line as a collosal blunder.
But the biggest blunder remains their assumption that cutting off transits of oil would cripple the global economy. The US decision to encourage hydrocarbon extraction domestically along with our cleanup in Venezuela seems to have been prescient as it relates to Iran.
In 2007, Obama was a junior Senator from Chicago considering a run for President against Hillary Clinton. At the time, Hillary was spreading rumors that Obama was not born in America and was not an American citizen. Pope Francis was at the Vatican and a future Pope Leo hailed from Obama’s Chicago.
At the same time, a sculptor made a paper mache statue of Obama depicted as Jesus and featured it in the city of Chicago where Pope Leo is from…
The sculpture of Obama as Jesus — entitled “Blessing” — went on display at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2007 right before Obama was elected President. I don’t recall any outrage back then. The current Pope Francis and the future Pope Leo never said a word against it.
The next year, 2008, the American people overwhelmingly elected Barack Obama President, whose father was a Shia Muslim aligned with Iran, for two terms and Pope Francis and the future Pope Leo never mentioned it. Apparently both sculptures were tied to the same artist. Hmm. My gut tells me that Team Obama commissioned them both.
Pope Francis later came to the Obama White House and pushed climate change from the Oval Office!
"Mr. President, I find it encouraging that you are accepting the urgency of [climate change] - seems clear to me also that climate change is a problem which can no longer be left to a future generation.”Now, fast forward to 2025 and 2026 where Pope Leo has made it his mission to negatively frame everything that President Trump has done.
Since Leo has reigned as Pope - these are a few of the words he has used to describe President Trump’s actions on the border, his deportation of criminal illegal aliens, and against the nuclear threat of Iran:
“truly unacceptable”
“the madness of war”
“war is back in vogue and a zeal for war is spreading”
“the principle established after the Second World War, which says no to war and seeks solutions through diplomacy and dialogue, seems to have been forgotten”
“too many innocent people are being killed”
“someone has to stand up and say there’s a better way”
“immigrants ought to be treated without the cold of indifference the stigma discrimination”
“open our arms and hearts to welcoming them as brothers and sisters, and for them a presence of consolation and hope”
“With their courage and tenacity, migrants and refugees are messengers of hope”
“In a world darkened by war and injustice, even when all seems lost, migrants and refugees stand as messengers of hope”
“migrants and refugees can become missionaries of hope in the countries that welcome them”
You’ll notice that the Vatican has a big wall around it and ID is required and armed guards prevent entry - but that’s another story for another day.
President Trump’s latest feud with the Pope was sparked when Leo, without naming Trump or the US, spoke out about against the war in Iran and after Pope Leo met with Obama’s speechwriter and top advisor, David Alexrod, at the Vatican last week.
What happened right before Pope Leo came out to bash Trump on his actions against Iran? Pope Leo met with David Alexrod, Obama’s number one advisor at the Vatican on April 9. How did the fake news frame that? Total excitement that Pope Leo was being directed behind the scenes by Obama and that a meeting might be forthcoming!
He talks about “fear” of the Trump Administration, but doesn’t mention the FEAR that the Catholic Church, and all other Christian Organizations, had during COVID when they were arresting priests, ministers, and everybody else, for holding Church Services, even when going outside, and being ten and even twenty feet apart.
