Facing Defeat, Biden Embraces Transgender Radicals

The Democrats' transgender assault is about much more than assailing Christians on Easter

Born men but what are they now? Joe Biden’s Justice Department expects you to have the correct opinion.

As millions of Americans prepared to celebrate Easter, President Joe Biden declared the day to be “Transgender Day of Visibility.”

One might perceive this to be an intentional affront to Christians on this holiest day of their calendar. Former President Donald Trump’s campaign rightly condemned Biden’s proclamation as such, with a spokesman commenting: “We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and the White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe [today] is for one celebration only--the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

Unfortunately, the situation is far worse than that.

As I have written before, the problem with transgender ideology is greater than just destroying women’s sports, traumatizing those who prefer not to go to the bathroom with the opposite sex, allowing depressed children to make major, irreversible decisions about their bodies without parental consent, undermining the military, confusing gay kids that they may actually be the wrong sex, or warping the English language into nonsense. As I argued in 2021, transgenderism is ultimately about political control:

Transgender radicalism is about forcing you to accept something you know to be a lie. It is a powerful form of tyranny. Basic propaganda, doublespeak, or newspeak might just obscure the truth and force people to doubt or step around the obvious. Deliberately forcing you to accept and embrace something you know to be a lie is a step farther. It is not for nothing that at the end of George Orwell’s “1984,” the teary protagonist doesn’t just pretend to love Big Brother, he actually does.

If an adult chooses to live as a member of the opposite sex because he (not “they”) believes he will be happier, then he should be allowed to do so and be treated with the same rights and dignity of any citizen. But such a decision by a person does not make him a member of the opposite sex. Nor should it obligate others to play along with what they know to be a lie.

The insult Biden and the Democrats are hurling isn’t just at Christianity. It is an insult to the very fundaments of Western Civilization, reason, and truth itself. It is to say that every fact, every pillar of society, every element of reality can be warped for political purposes. If they say 2 + 2 = 5, then it does. And if you don’t play along, you will run afoul of the full force of the United States government. In his proclamation, Biden threatened:

Transgender Americans are part of the fabric of our Nation… But extremists are proposing hundreds of hateful laws that target and terrify transgender kids and their families — silencing teachers; banning books; and even threatening parents, doctors, and nurses with prison for helping parents get care for their children… The Department of Justice has taken action to push back against extreme and un-American State laws targeting transgender youth and their families and the Department of Justice is partnering with law enforcement and community groups to combat hate and violence.

There you have it. Try to protect your kids or community from this ideology and the most powerful prosecutorial force in the Free World will set its sights on you. Good luck.

The statement shows that Biden and the Democrats have decided that cultural issues are the only way to salvage control of the White House and prevent a Republican sweep in November. Biden has failed economically, destroying about thirty percent of Americans’ savings and purchasing power through inflation he caused and continues to cause. He has failed as commander in chief, beginning with the humiliation of the USA at the hands of the Taliban and ending with his unrequited romance of China and Iran. He has set up the country for a fiscal crisis by running annual deficits of nearly $2 trillion dollars for as far as the eye can see.

Biden, the Democrats, and the liberal media believe that cultural issues are their silver bullet, especially abortion.

The Wall Street Journal, whose news division is overseen by a lefty from the Netherlands, declared today: “Democrats Get Personal on IVF, Putting Republicans on the Defensive.” They wish. The reference is to the Alabama Supreme Court’s judicial activism, which includes purporting that an embryo created through in vitro fertilization is a person. One of the court’s judges implied that God himself opposes IVF.

To prevail, Republicans need to dive into cultural issues without diffidence. The public is on their side, with perhaps 70 percent or more of Americans opposed to the transgender agenda. The same can be true with other cultural issues when framed properly. Specifically, Republicans should:

• Say that Democrats want to control Americans’ children and use them as political pawns.

• Counter any criticism on abortion by turning around the issue to the fact that Democrats favor taxpayer-funded late-term abortion, sometimes up to the moment of birth.

• Promise that any federal regulation of abortion will address only late-term abortion.

• Declare full support for IVF, which has made children possible for untold families, and that the cousin-humping, hick judge in Alabama who put this issue in play is a lunatic unfit for office.

• Promise that no American will be forced by their government or a business to pretend someone is the opposite sex and that no child will be bullied into or allowed to make irreversible medical decisions without the consent of his parents.

For once, cultural issues potentially favor Republicans. But they will have to fight without shame or apology for what they know to be true. Playing defense will fail and prolong the Democrats’ rule.

Trump has started to show the way by fighting back on cultural issues without shame or reservation. Will others follow?
